Cuban Prospects Review (2023-29 Classes)
I consider this players as potential signings for the upcoming international periods.
This is the first time I’ve decided to create this sort of guide about Cuban players who reside outside of the country and whom I consider potential signings for the upcoming international periods.
The goal is to provide you, my subscribers, with an organized idea of Cuban baseball emigration, which has surged since the 2014-2015 period, as I explain in more detail in my book “El Sueño y la Realidad” Historias de la emigración del béisbol cubano (1960-2018).
I have included the birthdate of each player mentioned, to define which class they belong to clearly. Along with this information, I’ve added the player’s position, brief details where applicable, and the academy to which they belong. For some players, you’ll be able to see whether they have a verbal agreement with an MLB organization for the future.
A few necessary clarifications regarding this list:
It only includes players who left Cuba,
It does not contain all the players who have left Cuba during this period, but rather those I’ve been able to locate or who seem like interesting cases to follow, and
The international market continues to focus on searching for players aged 13 to 16, which is why this list covers that age range. Therefore, the breakdown of classes and years is as follows:
• (2024) – From 9/1/2007 to 8/31/2008, would sign on January 15, 2025
• (2025) – From 9/1/2008 to 8/31/2009, would sign on January 15, 2026
